What a fun weekend we had! It rained the entire time, so we had to plan some activities that could get us out of the house.
On Saturday, Briggs and I went to Frankie’s Fun House in Huntersville for a mother and son day. We did bumper cars, played games, and laughed hysterically. Briggs decided to play one of those coin machines-the ones where cards fall and coins drop….I couldn’t even tell you what they are called. Anyway, my competitive side came out, and we could not leave that stool until my boy got all of the DC cards he set out for.
This place is amazing, just be prepared to drop some money if you will be there a while. It adds up FAST. (Whoops!)
That night, my in-laws watched the kids so that David and I could go out and celebrate his new job. We went out to eat at Red Rocks in Birkdale Village (I am addicted to the Lobster Ravioli there) and then took a Lyft to D9 Brewery afterwards.
Maybe I am just not savvy enough with Lyft, but I asked the driver if the giant contraption in his car was actually a disco ball. A simple yes or no would have been sufficient. He answered by turning it on and LEAVING IT ON while we headed to our destination. My husband and I couldn’t stop laughing. There we were, having a fairly normal conversation, while this stupid light blared in our faces.
Once we got to D9, I fell in love with a beer. And I am not a huge beer drinker. If you are in the area, be sure to try the “Brewer’s Day Off.” It’s light and refreshing.
We just had a great time. It’s important to steal moments away like this.
The next day, we went to a birthday party for our new friend, Grayson. His parents set up an entire Nerf battle, complete with forts. It was a brilliant idea and the kids loved it.
Georgia, however, decided that the moment was too perfect for gymnastics and couldn’t waste that opportunity. So, in the middle of the “battle” she began doing cartwheels across the gym.
I guess she decided the kind lady near her looked bored, because she forced her into watching about 10 bridges.
