Fantastic DVD Storage: Ditch the packaging.

by Courtney

Have you ever noticed the unnecessary packaging for Blu Rays and DVDS? I was trying to find the best way to store mine. They are just ugly and take up too much valuable space. I decided it made more sense to limit the case to the exact size of the disc itself and found these: slim DVD cases.

I dumped all the DVDs onto the floor. I threw out the cases and it was enough to fill two huge trash bags. Eight shelves in our playroom are now liberated.

To make it easy to find a DVD, I searched for a spine label that was small enough to fit the case. It was a challenge, but I finally found some: labels. I loaded them into a vintage beverage crate and every single one fit in neatly (with room to spare.)

I put it on the bookcase in our living room. It fit so perfectly and took up so little space.

I still can’t believe how much space they took up. How have I not thought of this before? It felt good to throw all of those cases out. They definitely didn’t spark joy. 😉
