Time is passing so quickly. I blink and it’s another season. For that reason alone, I am thrilled I documented our weekend enough to blog about it.
We have been so busy with virtual school. On Friday, we had a fun day of meeting up with some fellow virtual learners at the playground. We do this frequently. It breaks our day up so nicely and the kids feel like they get to have “recess.” I enjoyed fun time with the moms and some “Happy Friday” mimosas.
Every Friday afternoon, Georgia brings Shep to her end of the week final school conference chat. It’s precious-she is SO ready to show him off and he feels so included by sitting in on this meeting.
After we wrapped the school day up, we went to run errands on the golf cart. We were almost home when I spotted a giant egret standing in a tree (y’all…we see egrets all the time…we have never seen them standing up in an oak tree) so I was excited and had to pull over to take a picture.
I am so glad I did. I drive by this spot every day, several times, and neglect the beauty of it. This particular photo reminded me to be more mindful about taking things in.
We spent Friday evening baking and decorating Halloween cupcakes. We were shooting for “mummies”…but got something a little closer to monsters.
I set up a candy scavenger hunt through the house. This was their favorite part of the evening.
The kids were all hyper from the sugar, so Georgia decided to do yoga with Shep. This is what I literally walked up to find them doing.
Saturday, David took the kids to the park and I realized I had some free time. I grabbed my shoes and ran to the beach. It was the first time I had ever done that-gone to the beach for a walk alone. It was amazing. The tide has been really crazy lately (some sort of wind system or something? I don’t really know. I’m just trying to keep up with the kids’ schoolwork and get this house decorated.) But the ocean was wild and it was just so peaceful to walk beside it. Alone.
I was walking along Ponte Vedra Beach and the houses always stun me. They are gorgeous. I am going to consciously take time to do this more often. I came back so refreshed.
That evening, my brother’s family came down from Amelia Island for dinner and drinks. We always have so much with them. The kids had dance parties and played with my accessories.
Georgia has this adorable skirt from Target on. It’s Cat and Jack and SO cute in person. It stopped me in my tracks in the store. She wants to wear it every single day. If you have a little girl, it’s a must. I wish they made one for adults!
Happy Monday! I hope everyone has a great start to their week!
