The Story Behind Linen & Cane

A well-known local bed-and-breakfast changed hands, and with the sale came an unexpected challenge: the original owner took the furnishings with them.

There was just one problem.

A bride was already booked to have her wedding there.

Rather than disappoint her—or compromise the experience she had been promised—the new owner moved quickly to furnish the property from the ground up. Designer furniture, rugs, lighting, mirrors and accents were sourced to transform the nearly empty inn into a beautiful, welcoming setting in time for her wedding.

The wedding went on. The bride got her day.

Afterward, with the immediate deadline behind them, a designer was brought in to develop a new, long-term vision for the property. That vision took the interiors in an entirely different direction, and many of the beautiful pieces that had just been purchased were removed.

Which is how they came to The Style Court.

Linen & Cane

Linen & Cane is a curated collection of those furnishings—designer pieces purchased for a beloved local bed-and-breakfast, used little if at all, and replaced not because there was anything wrong with them, but simply because the property’s design story changed.

It is a collection with an unusually lovely history: a new owner stepping in, a wedding that couldn’t wait, a bride who still got the beautiful celebration she’d planned, and an entire collection of furnishings now waiting for their next home.
