A quick and easy topiary upgrade

by Courtney

I popped into Home Depot the other day and saw these little rosemary topiaries on sale. I picked them up and figured that I could find a cute black and white pot for them.

I couldn’t find any type of planter that would be small enough to fit on my mantel with my husband’s giant tv. Then I thought of something when I pulled the plants out of the red planter. The non-decorative pot was black.

I had an idea to put white strips of vinyl on the black pot. Then I took a gold paint marker and imperfectly painted along the sides of each stripe. It made the planter appear to be hand painted.

They turned out so quirky and cute! They were also slim enough to fit alongside the tv. They will hold a temporary spot there until my preserved topiaries are finished or I kill them….whichever happens first.
